Ru, caregiver at Happy Times Dayhome

Our story

A space built for curiosity and growth.

Hi, I'm Ru. I started Happy Times Dayhome because I wanted to create a space built entirely around how children actually learn, play, and grow. With 15+ years of experience and a Level 3 certification, I've learned that the most meaningful growth happens when a child isn't lost in a busy crowd. By keeping our setting small, I have the time and space to truly listen to a childs questions and fuel their natural curiosity.

My dayhome is Reggio Emilia-inspired, which means I treat every child as capable, creative, and full of potential. I use our indoor space and the beautiful nature here in Riverstone Cranston to let kids explore the world at their own pace.

Happy Times is a licensed Cranston dayhome built on connection, giving your child a warm place to learn exactly who they are.

How I approach care

01

Routine builds confidence

Predictable daily rhythms help young children feel settled. We keep consistent schedules so kids always know what's coming next.

02

Small group, real attention

A dayhome means your child isn't one face in a crowd. Everyone gets actual engagement.

03

Play is how children learn

Child-led play, outdoor time, and hands-on activities come first.

A typical day

What your child's day actually looks like.

Morning arrival and free play

Kids settle in with open-ended toys and quiet activities while the group arrives between 7 and 9 AM.

Structured activity

Each morning includes a guided craft, story, or learning activity - hands-on, age-appropriate.

Daily outdoor adventures

We head outside to the park or back every day, weather permitting, to ensure the children get plenty of fresh air, sunlight, and room to run.

Nutritious Lunch

Healthy, home-cooked meals are served together so children can enjoy familiar food and a calm midday routine.

Rest and quiet time

After lunch, younger children nap while older ones have independent quiet time. Cots and bedding are provided.

Pickup and Home time

Between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM, children ease out of the day with a steady transition as Parents arrive for pickup.
